Dhurandhar: The Revenge Box Office: Ranveer Singh Starrer Surpasses Rs. 870 Cr; Eyes Historic Rs. 900 Cr Mark on Day 17
Mumbai: The box office juggernaut, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, headlined by Ranveer Singh, continues its unprecedented streak, shattering records with every passing day. On its third Friday, the film capitalized on the Good Friday holiday, raking in an impressive Rs. 20.50 crore nett in the Hindi belt alone. This performance places it in an elite bracket, as the only other film to achieve a similar 3rd Friday feat was its own predecessor, Dhurandhar, which netted Rs. 21 crore.
The Road to Rs. 900 Crore
The Aditya Dhar-directed spy thriller saw a significant 30% jump in collections compared to the previous day. With this, the total Hindi nett collection stands at approximately Rs. 821 crore. When combined with the Rs. 49 crore contributed by the South-dubbed versions (Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam), the film’s domestic total has reached a staggering Rs. 870 crore.
Trade analysts predict that the film will comfortably cross the Rs. 900 crore nett mark by the end of today (Day 17), making it an All-Time Blockbuster.
Analysis: Why Growth Remained “Muted” Despite the Holiday
While a Rs. 20 crore+ collection on a third Friday is historic, experts suggest the upside was slightly capped.
-
- Pricing Stability: Ticket prices were already at “blockbuster levels” during the weekdays; hence, there was no additional hike for the holiday.
- Centre Performance: The film performed exceptionally well in major metros and “A” centres, which typically see a high turnout on Good Friday.
- Third Weekend Projections: The third weekend is expected to hover around Rs. 65 crore. While reaching the Rs. 1000 crore mark via the Hindi version alone now seems like a challenging mountain to climb, the “All-Language” total is almost certain to hit that milestone soon.
